HIS Ministries Anti-Discrimination Policy

Purpose

HIS Ministries is committed to treating every person with dignity, respect, fairness, and compassion. As a faith-based nonprofit organization serving individuals and families in our community, HIS Ministries strives to ensure that our programs and services are accessible and provided in a fair and equitable manner.

Non-Discrimination Policy

HIS Ministries does not discriminate in the administration of its programs, services, assistance, employment opportunities, volunteer opportunities, or other organizational activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.

All individuals who qualify for HIS Ministries programs and services will be considered based on the applicable program eligibility requirements and available resources.

Employment and Volunteer Opportunities

HIS Ministries is committed to providing equal opportunity in employment and volunteer activities. Employment and volunteer decisions are based on qualifications, experience, skills, organizational needs, and other legitimate considerations consistent with applicable law.

HIS Ministries does not tolerate discrimination or harassment in the workplace or in volunteer activities.

Programs and Services

HIS Ministries provides assistance to individuals and families based on established program guidelines and available resources. Staff and volunteers are expected to treat all individuals with dignity, courtesy, and respect.

Program eligibility requirements will be applied consistently and fairly to individuals seeking assistance.

HIS Ministries will make reasonable efforts to accommodate individuals with disabilities and to provide meaningful access to its programs and services as required by applicable law.

Harassment

HIS Ministries prohibits harassment, intimidation, or inappropriate conduct toward clients, employees, volunteers, donors, or other individuals participating in or interacting with the organization.

Concerns regarding discrimination or harassment will be taken seriously and reviewed in a timely and appropriate manner.

Religious Character

HIS Ministries is a faith-based organization. Our Christian mission and values guide the manner in which we serve our community. However, individuals seeking assistance will be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their religious beliefs or lack of religious affiliation, consistent with applicable law and the requirements of any funding received by HIS Ministries.

Participation in HIS Ministries' programs and receipt of assistance will not be conditioned upon participation in religious activities, except where permitted by applicable law and funding requirements.

Reporting a Concern

Anyone who believes they have experienced or witnessed discrimination, harassment, or unequal treatment involving HIS Ministries is encouraged to report the concern to organizational leadership.

HIS Ministries will make reasonable efforts to review complaints promptly and maintain appropriate confidentiality, to the extent permitted by law.

Retaliation against an individual who makes a good-faith complaint or participates in an investigation is prohibited.

Policy Review

HIS Ministries will periodically review this policy to ensure that it remains consistent with applicable laws, regulations, funding requirements, and the organization's mission and practices.
